Together, we’re launching the WSXA x Hailuo AI Film Competition, inviting creators worldwide to explore how AI can reshape cinematic storytelling around themes that matter.

Known for its socially conscious approach and innovative showcases, WSXA has built a reputation for spotlighting art that challenges creative and ethical boundaries, with screenings across Europe and a global network of visionary artists.

WSXA x Hailuo AI Film Competition

This one-of-a-kind competition invites filmmakers, artists, and creators to craft AI-powered short films that explore critical issues at the intersection of humanity, technology, and the planet.

With €2,500 in prizes, finalists will have their films screened at WSXA Amsterdam in October 2025, with select winners receiving an additional opportunity to showcase their work at ARFF Berlin in November.

To celebrate the many ways AI is transforming cinema, we’ve curated five award categories, each designed to recognize technical excellence, creative innovation, and meaningful storytelling:

• Best AI Narrative – Anti-War
  Storytelling has the power to restore empathy in times of conflict. This category seeks narratives that explore the cost of violence, the longing for peace, and the resilience of the human spirit through the lens of AI-powered filmmaking.
• Most Creative AI Usage – Climate Resilience
  Storytelling is no longer a genre — it's a responsibility. We're looking for films that imagine new futures, shed light on overlooked struggles, or inspire collective action in the face of environmental change.
• Best Technical Innovation – Human–Machine Collaboration
  This category celebrates co-creation between humans and AI, honoring projects that push the boundaries of workflows, tools, or hybrid ideas that redefine what it means to create together.
• Best MiniMax Audio Dubbing – Voice & Language Innovation
  Voice is identity, culture, and connection. This category champions the creative use of synthetic voice and multilingual dubbing, enabling inclusive, expressive, and borderless storytelling.
• Best Visual Design – AI-Enhanced Cinematic Style
  From visual aesthetics to world-building, this category honors films that showcase how AI can unlock bold and cinematic visual languages.
